Sometimes Change is a Good Thing-a new release for author Tracey J Lyons in 2016

     Change is never easy, but for the characters in my upcoming 2016 release, A Changed Agent (Waterfall Press) change is right around the corner… A man without a place to call home, William Benson has always been perfectly suited to the rough and solitary lifestyle of a Pinkerton Agent. A loner by nature Will has no room for anyone special in his life which suits him just fine. A man in his position should remain unencumbered by emotional ties. William wholeheartedly believes in this theory right up until the day he has a ready-made family thrust upon him.

     Elsie Mitchell is about to enter spinsterhood, an unfortunate occurrence she hadn’t planned on considering just a few short months ago she’d been anticipating her wedding. When her fiancĂ© jilts her without explanation, Elsie resolves to lead a happy, productive life regardless of her marital status. With her broken heart finally on the mend, she immerses herself in her life as a schoolteacher. She’s dreams of traveling beyond the small town of Heartston, New York and saves every penny for her adventures. Indeed, Elsie Mitchell’s life is almost perfect until the day she crosses paths with the secretive William Benton and his two young charges.

     I love writing books with characters who think their lives are great just the way they are and then one day, poof! It all changes. A Changed Agent is set in the late 1800’s against the backdrop of the rugged and beautiful Adirondack Mountain region of New York State. This is one of my favorite places to visit. And in this book I get to revisit the setting for my first ever published novel, Mountain Jewel. Though not a sequel or even a connected book to my first one, developing this story and these characters has been a nice change for me. I got to delve into the inspirational romance genre, something I wasn’t that far off from in my Women of Surprise series.  Look for A Changed Agent (Waterfall Press) coming in July 2016.

New Book, New Series + BONUS: New Cover Reveal!

Are you one of those people who hate to promote your own stuff? I certainly am. I love to share the accomplishments of others and if it has to do with my kids, well, then it's no holds barred. But me, and my stuff...well, I thank my friends at the Warwick Valley Romance Writers for "forcing" my hand...

Anyway, I have a lot on my plate this year to keep me busy and I certainly hope you will all join me in my newest ventures.

***************************

First up, I will finally be releasing Inner Strength, the sixth e-book in my series, Strong Armed. Following the story of fan favorites, Bryn and Carson, this is a stand-alone series supplement that picks up when the couple relocates to Switzerland for medical treatment. Their carefree, open marriage is put to the ultimate test as secrets are revealed (including exactly what happened on New Year's Eve) and sibling rivalries are acknowledged.

So many readers requested more Bryn and Carson and I hope I don't disappoint in this full-length novel, that includes three parts in one release told from both Bryn and Carson's point of view. A link will be posted on my Facebook page, Elisabeth Mayer - Romance Author and on my website, elisabethmayerbooks.com as soon as it is released.

Note: the story takes place beyond the original series & contains series spoilers.

***************************

But that's not all! I am currently finishing up my newest series, The Chosen, which will be released this spring. I stepped out of my comfort zone for this one and explored the supernatural; an experience that was both challenging and liberating at the same time. Here's a quick description:

Livvy Collins arrives at her Aunt Anna's house in Salem, Massachusetts just in time to fall head over heels in love with Michael Fairely. Michael is the perfect guy in every way and she feels an instant bond. In no time, she knows Michael is her soulmate and that she will spend her life with him. She cannot find a single flaw in her perfect man; that is, until she learns he is the son of the devil.

The complete e-book series: Satan's Son, Satan's Mistress & Satan's Choice will be released together. And to kick off this new year right, my cover release! These were just received last Thursday! Aren't they hot?

***************************

2016 will also find me expanding into print. So many people have asked and steps are already in motion to make it happen. The first series to be available in print editions will be my first e-book series, published in 2012, The Dragonfly Series: All That I Am, All That I Want & All That I Have. It is currently being rejuvenated and receiving a cover facelift.

Watch my Facebook page for more info.

And coming this summer:
 Faith, Hope & Joy - a series of three standalone love stories.

So I hope you'll all tag along for the ride. 2016 promises to be a busy year!

New Beginnings = New Book + New Business

New Release: Summer with the Soldier

I love the beginning of a new year! Nothing beats that fresh slate feeling. We have an entire year stretched before us with new goals to achieve and new experiences to look forward to.

I'll be celebrating my first "new" of the New Year with the release of the fourth book of my Holiday Encounters series, Summer with the Soldier. Here's a little about the book:

A year after college graduation, fun-loving Jade Roberts has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up. But when her friends  make a bet to get her to try new things, she thinks they might be onto something. She's ready to prove to everyone, including herself, that she's capable of being more than just a trophy wife.

When Logan Murphy returns home on leave from his tour of duty in Afghanistan, he's a man on a mission--plan a charity event to benefit homeless veterans. He's more than a little surprised when his little sister's best friend offers her help. He's even more shocked at the sparks that fly when the two of them start working together.

But it'll take more than desire to make him believe that beautiful and pampered Jade should settle for a soldier who can't offer her all the luxury she's used to. Will Jade be able to convince him she's more than capable of being a soldier's woman before he's deployed again?

Ready for more Jade and Logan? Keep your eyes peeled on my Amazon author page for the release of Summer with the Soldier later this week!

What's new for the Warwick Valley Romance Authors?

Hello again! Yes, it is officially the new year. 2016. How long will it take for me to remember that each time I write out a check?

This month the WVRA will be doing some self-promotion and talking about any new releases we have coming up.

~~~**~~~
So, I currently have two ebooks published, Already Home and One Good Catch, books 1 and 2 in the Maguire's Corner series.
Coffee shop owner Maggie Maguire doesn’t trust the new police chief her father hired to protect Maguire’s Corner. He’s a stranger, cold, bossy and annoyingly handsome. But, Maggie’s witnessed a serious crime and now someone’s trying to kill her. The man that aggravates her most might be the only one that can help her.
Police Chief Jack Munro likes his new job and his new town, and unfortunately he also likes the stubborn but beautiful town sweetheart. His self-imposed hands-off Maggie policy is about to be put to the ultimate test when he must keep her close to protect her while he tracks down a ruthless killer.
Determined to ignore Jack’s charms, Maggie attempts to help him unravel the mystery but when their lives hang in the balance she must decide how much she’s willing to risk to save the man she suddenly can’t resist.
Ignoring a recent trauma that is affecting her everyday life, ER Doctor Kate Maguire engages in some high risk activities, but putting herself in these dangerous situations isn’t enough to feed her edginess. She needs something more. When her brother’s high school best friend comes back to town, it’s her chance for a ‘no strings attached’ fling with the man who still headlines in all her best dreams.
Rhys MacGrath’s days of one-night-stands are long over. The pro-football player might be side-lined at rehab for a shoulder injury, but that doesn’t mean he can’t admire and desire the all-grown-up, so-damn-hot, version of the tomboy he once knew. His sudden interest in Kate might be aggravating his best friend, who doesn’t approve, but it’s her indifference that’s driving Rhys crazy.
Everything heats up when Kate’s nosy nature sets her in the line of fire of an arsonist forcing them to deal with more than just the sparks igniting between them.
I'm just finishing up a short story, yet to be named, for an anthology that will be out mid-2016. It has lots of characters from Maguire's Corner, including Jack and Maggie.
I've been working on book 3 in the Maguire's Corner series and hope to publish that this year as well.
Eventually, I hope to re-edit my original completed novel, Setting the Record Straight. It's been languishing on my computer for far too long, but it needs a lot of work.
Where else can you find me on the inter-web?
I have an Author FB page where I post bits and pieces of work, but mostly hot guy pictures. :)
